Since childhood I have heard music in my head, from
simple melodies to orchestral symphonies. It makes me happy
and gives me hope and confidence.
In 1989 I worked as a researcher in organic farming.
During the weekend I tried to make a career as a
singer-comedian, because my mind was on science, but my
heart was on music. That year I recorded ten of my own songs
about healthy food and environmentally friendly farming,
hoping that my path in life would become clear and I could
follow my heart for the rest of my life.
The reviews were favorable, but sales stalled.
Disappointed and depressed, my life took an unexpected
turn—I met Irene Lutz and Marion Hoensbroech (now von Ginant),
who invited me to develop Resonance Therapy (now
ECOintention) with them.
It became, and still is, a unique journey of discovery on
a road that you cannot go by choosing one or the other, but
only by connecting one with the other, head with heart. In
this way, one plus one became equal to three, and music was
turned on a lower volume.
Everything Changes On Earth
During the coronavirus pandemic my old heart's desire
arose to make a hopeful sound with music. If one moment is
suitable for that, then it is the special time in which we
now live. No sooner said than done, music was given space to
sing and swing again.
Searching for repertoire, two new songs, "Everything
changes" and "With Rosalinde in the light" together with the
previously written "Earth" turned out to form a beautiful
triptych entitled "Everything changes on Earth."
"Everything is changing on Earth" describes our journey
from fear to trust, from dark to light, from alone to
together and from ego to “eco” that we all make in our own
way in these turbulent years.
Note: The songs are written and sung in Dutch, my native
language. English translations will be ready soon.
With united forces
Looking for a pianist to accompany me, I found Puk van
Hout who, as it turned out, not only plays the piano and
alto and tenor saxophone, but also sings beautifully.
Immediately polyphonic arrangements sounded in my head. We
rehearsed for two afternoons and went into the studio for
another two afternoons, where René Bloks recorded everything
Pieter Wackers recorded the making of this triptych and
processed it into beautiful video clips, in which images of
nature and our blue planet tell the story of “Everything
changes on Earth.” This is to show that this time it is not
about us personally, but us as part of the larger whole.
Puk, René, and Pieter, thank you very much for your
cooperation and help in making the wish of my heart come
true. I am very happy with the result, hopefully everybody
listening and watching will be too.
"Everything is changing on Earth" means: don't wait, get
to work with united forces!
